O2O – Olympia to the Olympic Stadium July 2012

Twelve Kent cyclists are now taking part in an amazing challenge.  Three women and nine men, with an age range of over 40 years, are cycling from Olympia in Greece, where the Games began, to the Olympic Stadium in London.
The journey is taking us over 1,500 mile with a goal to arrive in London on Sunday July 15th. We are cycling an average of 100 miles a day through Greece, Italy, Switzerland and France, climbing the Gotthard Pass over the Alps on the way.
A further fifteen riders are joining the O2O ride in Lucerne on Saturday July 7th to cycle the second half of the ride, covering 600 miles.

You can track in real time how we’re getting on by visiting our Route page and follow our daily blogs or follow us on twitter at #o2o2012

The ride is in aid of the Kent Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance. It costs £5million a year to keep both helicopters flying from their bases at Marden near Maidstone and Dunsfold near Guildford and each emergency call-out costs about £2,500.
You can sponsor us by clicking here, or Text 70300 with the message AIR OLYMPICS to automatically donate £3 to our sponsorship.
Between us all we have raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for many different charities. This time our target is £50,000. With your help we can make it happen.
