Training

Cycling 1500 miles at 100 miles a day will be a considerable physical effort. All the riders are experienced cyclists but they will all be putting in a lot of extra training in between now and the end of June.

Dr Damian Coleman of Canterbury Christ Church University is testing all the riders and then giving us each an individually designed training programme to maximise our fitness. He will be testing us for our lactate tolerance, VO2 max and raw power output.
He is also using us as guinea pigs in a scientific research project on the effect of such extreme exercise on our bodies.
