The Race Against Time

Canon Ed Condry, Canon Treasurer of the Cathedral, is cycling from Lands End to John o ’Groats in aid of the Bishop Simeon Trust.

The Journey begins at 06.30 on Sunday June 27th in the far south west of Cornwall. In the next 6 days he and 8 other cyclists from around the country, will pedal 150 miles a day for six days, until they reach the north-west tip of Scotland on the evening of Friday July 2nd. They will travel at about 15-16mph, and will consume 9000kcals a day, drinking at least 10 litres a day, and much more if the weather is hot.

The Bishop Simeon Trust supports education and development projects in South Africa, amongst those who still suffer from the effects of HIV/AIDS. The Archbishop of Canterbury is among the patrons. You can find out more about the Trust’s work at www.bstrust.org.

The Race Against Time is their most important fundraising event of the year. Canon Condry is aiming for £15 a mile or £13125.
The riders will be supported by a hardworking team of supporters, amongst which is Ed’s wife Sarah.
